Sitting Pretty On A New York Chair

2014/04/08

theglobaldiva.com

My Brooklynite bestie from high school would be the first to point out that New York City is not exactly my most favorite city in the world—sorry New York. But I will have to admit that I do love this chair with its throw pillow featuring the New York skyline. It would be awesome in a room featuring a similarly styled San Francisco chair along side a Paris sofa. I am confident that both of those exist somewhere.

Which brings to mind a question. How come we never see home furnishings inspired by cities like, say, Peoria Illinois, Butte Montana, or Lizard Lick North Carolina?

So, tell me, what city would you like to sit on?

Lagerfeld’s Chocolate Room at La Reserve Hotel

Are you a jetsetter obsessed with Chocolate? Luckily, you are not alone. Designer Karl Lagerfeld created this ALL chocolate hotel suite with the help of Chocolatier Patrick Roger. The chocolate super-duo reportedly used more than 10 tons of Magnum Chocolate for a 2011 promotion at La Reserve Hotel in Paris, France.

The Chocolate Boutique Hotel

The Chocolate Boutique Hotel in Dorset is run by British choco-preneurs Gerry and Roo. Along with their chocolate fountain rental, cocoa centric corporate team building, and truffle making workshop biz, they run a 15 room B&B which includes daily chocolate tastings and a homemade breakfast.

Are you a eco-conscious chocolate lover? How about trying out a fair-trade cacao tour in the Dominican Republic? They offer a half-a-day educational tour from the plantations to the processing plant. After a tasty Dominican lunch, they will also teach you how to make your own chocolate straight from the beans. Homestay and other excursions are also available.

(almost) Wordless Wednesday: Pilsen Murals Part 2

2014/03/12

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I posted about the Many Murals of Pilsen a while back and promised a part 2.

www.theglobaldiva.com

While we await the arrival of a painfully slow Spring, I thought we could all use a bit of color.

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I still have so many shots that it looks like there will have to be a part 3 as well.
